The Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Epidemiology. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a creative independent extramurally-funded research program; be able to contribute to collaborative projects and improve methodology of other research done at the College; teach high-quality courses in epidemiology in the DVM, graduate, and MPH curricula; and provide consultations and collaborations with members of the department and College. Applicants must have a DVM/VMD (or equivalent degree), although exceptional MD applicants will be considered. A PhD in a discipline that employs epidemiology to address basic and/or applied scientific questions relevant to veterinary medicine, one health and/or public health, or veterinary laboratory diagnostics is required. Required is also a strong background in statistics. Specific areas of strength within the department and the college include epidemiology in production and companion animals and humans, public health, shelter medicine, food and waterborne diseases, wildlife health, diagnostic sciences, and genetics. Salary and rank will be commensurate with previous experience and credentials.
